Liquid Modernity (2026) explores the instability of contemporary life through a group of human figures immersed in a swimming pool. Light, shadow, water and reflections fragment their identities, leaving the viewer to mentally reconstruct them. Inspired by Zygmunt Bauman’s concept of “liquid modernity,” the painting reflects on identities, relationships and certainties that have become increasingly unstable and temporary. A small fish, motionless beside the pool, introduces an ironic reversal: while the humans inhabit the water and seem to dissolve into it, the fish observes them from the solid world outside. Acrylic and oil on wood. 100 × 80 cm. Original artwork, ready to hang.
